ICELAND PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR

with Gill Fry Photography and Páll Jökull

I am pleased to announce I am teaming up with Icelandic Guide and Photographer, Páll Jökull, to bring you these exciting photography tours.

2024 - Eight day tour - Sunday 22 to Sunday 29 September 2024 (7 nights accommodation) - BOOKED OUT

2025 - Eight day tour - Thursday 25 to Thursday 2 October 2025 (7 nights accommodation)

Iceland is known as the land of fire and ice due to its large volcanic area fuelled by the Mid Atlantic Ridge and its many glaciers due to the proximity to the Arctic circle.

The area covered by Vatnajökull (Vatna Glacier), the country’s largest, is equal to the combined total area covered by all the glaciers on the continent of Europe.

Iceland is like nowhere else on earth.

  • Huge waterfalls
  • Stellar mountains
  • Glaciers
  • Ice on the black sand beach

A photographers delight!

Why September?

In late September, Iceland experiences the onset of autumn, presenting a unique and enchanting atmosphere for travelers.

A photographers delight!

The weather during this time is characterized by cooler temperatures, ranging from 5 to 12 degrees Celsius (41 to 54 degrees Fahrenheit), providing a refreshing and crisp climate that is perfect for outdoor exploration.

The landscape undergoes a captivating transformation as the vibrant hues of summer give way to the rich and warm colors of fall, painting the iconic Icelandic scenery with golden and russet tones.

This season offers a splendid balance between lingering daylight and the possibility of witnessing the mesmerizing Northern Lights as darkness gradually returns.

Traveling to Iceland in late September provides a quieter and more intimate experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the natural wonders, from cascading waterfalls to dramatic glaciers, without the crowds typical of peak tourist season.

Whether you’re seeking breathtaking landscapes, a sense of tranquility, or the chance to witness the dancing auroras, late September in Iceland promises a magical and unforgettable journey.
